Obituary of Isabelle E. (Spiliotis) Koulas

PEABODY Isabelle E. (Spiliotis) Koulas, 84, of Forest St., beloved wife of Theodore Ted Koulas, died unexpectedly Sunday at the Salem Hospital following a brief illness. Born in Peabody, she was the daughter of the late Louis and Anastasia (Albani) Spiliotis. She lived in Peabody for all of her life and attended Peabody public schools. She graduated from Peabody High School, Class of 1936. Mrs. Koulas worked for GTE Sylvania on Loring Ave in Salem, as a Sales Clerk at Marshall’ s Department Store in Peabody, and was the owner/operator of Squire Road Package Store in Revere and had worked at Merchants Liquor Mart in Danvers for many years before her retirement. She was a member of St. Vasilios Greek Orthodox Church in Peabody, was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, and assisted with Girl Scouts and Brownie Troops in Peabody. She was well loved by her family and will be dearly missed by her husband, Theodore Ted Koulas of Peabody, with whom she shared 58 years of marriage; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Gregory Greg and Marie Koulas of Peabody and William Koulas of Salem; two daughters and sons-in-law, Cynthia Cindy & Frank Peters and Constance Connie & George Lowell, both of Peabody; four grandchildren, Stephanie Dowling, Chris Peters, Nicholas Koulas, and Matthew Koulas all of Peabody; two great-grandchildren, Steven Dowling and Alexis Dowling, both of Peabody; one brother, George Spiliotis of Peabody; five sisters, Jennie Retos, Mary Espinola, Helen Mc Donald, and Virginia Dutille, all of Peabody, and Constance Perakis of NY, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brothers and sisters, Emily Lawrence, Paul Spiliotis, Andrew Spiliotis, Constance Connie Spiliotis. Her funeral will be held on Wednesday at 9 AM from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 12 Chestnut St. Peabody Facility, (978) 531-0398 followed by a Funeral Service at 10 AM in St. Vasilios Church, Peabody.
