Obituary of Charles Edward Doherty, Jr.

Charles E. Doherty, Jr., 44, of San Diego, died suddenly and unexpectedly on Saturday afternoon at the Kaiser Permanente Hospital in Mission Valley, San Diego, CA. Born in Melrose, he was the son of Charles E. Doherty, Sr. of Atlanta and the late Joan Cormier from Peabody. He lived in Peabody in his youth, and attended Peabody schools. He graduated from Peabody High School, Class of 1976. He moved away from the Peabody area over 10 years ago, and had lived in San Diego for the last year. Mr. Doherty was employed with Cater Air Company, a supplier and servicing food for the airlines. He is survived by his father, Charles E. Doherty, Sr. of Atlanta; one son, Michael Doherty of San Diego, CA; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Thomas & Cynthia Doherty of Danvers and Stephen & Sheree Doherty of Salem; one sister and brother-in-law, Linda & Robert Osgood of Peabody; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Joan Cormier who died June 2002. His funeral will be held on Thursday at 10 AM from the Cahill-Brodeur facility at 20 Church St. of the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, Peabody, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11 AM in St. John's Church, Peabody. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. A visitation will be held on Wednesday from 5 to 8 P.M. Burial in St. Mary’ s Cemetery, Lynn.
