Obituary of Susan M. (Powers) Cronin

Susan M. (Powers) Cronin LYNN—Susan M. (Powers) Cronin, 59, beloved wife of Gordon Cronin, Jr. of Lynn, passed away peacefully at the North Shore Medical Center—Union Hospital in Lynn, following a lengthy illness. Born in Peabody, she was the daughter of the late James and Phyllis (Gleason) Powers. She grew up in Peabody, and graduated from Peabody High School. She got her degree in counseling from North Shore Community College. Mrs. Cronin worked as a Substance Abuse and Rehabilitation Counselor with Tewksbury State Hospital for 30 years. Susan enjoyed crafts and decorating around the house. She was an avid shopper, enjoyed travel to Bermuda, Florida, and cruises. Family values were most important to her, and she cherished her family and loved animals. She is survived by her husband Gordon Cronin, Jr. of Lynn, with whom she shared nearly 25 years together; a daughter, Cathijo Goodwin of Uxbridge; four grandchildren, David, Kieler, Alison, and Madyson; a great-grandchild Kinley; two sisters, Beth Powers of Peabody and Debra Powers of Boca Raton, FL; her mothers and fathers-in-law, Gordon Cronin, Sr. & his wife Donna of Lynn, and Joan Winslow & her husband Wayne of Lynn, several cousins in Peabody and Lynn, and her 3 cats. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to her Funeral Service on Tuesday August 28, 2012 at 1 P.M. in the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody. A visitation will be held on Monday from 5 – 8 P.M. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Lynn.
