Obituary of James William Coleman
James W. Coleman, 79, of Brooksby Village Drive,Peabody, and formerly of Manchester,NH, died Friday at his residence after a short illness. He was the husband of Beverly Ann (Jones) Coleman.
He was born in Auburn,NY on July 5, 1933, the son of the late James and Mary (Stine) Coleman and had resided inNew York,CT.and New Hampshirebefore moving to Peabody,MA 5 years ago.
James entered the US Navy and served in the Korean War prior to his discharge.
He then entered the finance industry working first at Household Finance Corp in New York and Connecticut. He later moved to Manchester,NH and became president of the Merchants National Bank for many years. He later was a Vice Prescient of the Smith Barney Corp in NH prior to his retirement 14 years ago.
Surviving him besides his wife are a son, James W. Coleman 111, of Rochester, MA, his three brothers, Paul Coleman of Skaneateles, NY, Ronald Coleman of Clifton Park, NY and Francis Coleman of Ponchatoula, LA, his two sisters, Ellen Brown and Theresa Keimek both of Skaneateles, NY, three grandchildren, Alexandra Coleman and John Coleman both of Portsmouth, NH and James William Coleman of Rochester, MA and many nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, August 29, 2012 at 3:00 PM at the BrooksbyVillageChapel, 100 Brooksby Village Dr., (Off of Rt 114) inPeabody,MA. Relatives and friends are kindly invited.
