Obituary of Adeline "Addie" (Silva) Kassotis
Adeline “Addie” (Silva) Kasssotis, 98, of Peabody and formerly of Danvers, died Saturday at the Kaplan Family Hospice house in Danvers after a short illness. She was born in Peabody on July 25, 1915, the daughter of the late Theodore and Charlotte (Sousa) Silva and had resided inDanversfor many years before moving back toPeabody14 years ago.
She was a long time employee of the former Ideal Baby Shoe Co. of Danvers and later at the GTE Sylvania Lighting plant in Salem prior to her retirement. Addie enjoyed dancing, crocheting, cooking and golf and was proud to have a hole in one in her golf career.
She had spent her winters in Orlando,Florida and what she loved most in life was spending time with her family at cookouts, holidays and many family occasions.
She is survived by her two daughters, Carol Stepenuck of Beverly and Elaine Moynihan of Clearwater, FL, a brother and sister-in-law, John and Lucille Silva of Danvers, her grandchildren Steve and his wife Ann Anthony of Lynn, Cindy St. Pierre and her husband Bill of Danvers, Scott and his wife Jiranuch Stepenuck of Malden,, Debra and her husband Scott Damon of NH, Stephanie and her husband David Deroucher of Florida and Jacqueline Moynihan of Florida, 11 great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was the wife of the late James Kenney and the late Stephen Kassotis, the mother of the late Mary Kenney and the sister of the late Antonio and William Silva, Isabella Hubbell-Tonkin and Olive Fratus. She had many friends that she cherished and will be forever loved and missed by everyone who knew her.
A Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 4:00 until 7:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 82 Lynn St.,Peabody facility. Her funeral will be held on Thursday at 8:00 AM from the Funeral Home followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Mary of the Annunciation Church, Conant St., Danvers at 9:00 AM. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem. Expressions of sympathy may be made to Hospice of North Shore, 75 Sylvan St., Suite 102B, Danvers, MA01923 in her memory,
