Obituary of Walter R. "Whitey" Koziski

Walter R. “Whitey” Koziski PEABODY—Walter R. “Whitey” Koziski, 88, beloved husband of Leocadya “Lottie” (Misiura) Koziski, passed away peacefully at the Kaplan Family Hospice House on Saturday morning September 1, 2012, while in the comforting presence of his family. Born in Peabody, he was the son of the late Stanley and Zofia (Ference) Koziski. He was a lifelong resident of the city, and graduated from Peabody High School. Mr. Koziski was an Auto Mount Mechanic with GTE Sylvania, and enjoyed a 44 year career at the Loring Avenue location in Salem. Whitey, as he was affectionately known, was a member of the GTE Sylvania Quarter Century Club. He enjoyed staying close to home, as he loved tending to his garden, fishing, and golfing. He is survived by his wife Lottie (Misiura) Koziski of Peabody, with whom he shared 63 years of marriage; three sons and their wives, Stanley & Karen Koziski of Peabody, Michael & Patricia Koziski of Alexandria, VA, and Steven & Sophia Koziski of Peabody; seven grandchildren, Daniel & his wife Nicole Koziski of Revere, Jessica & her husband Chris Scruggs of Bristow, VA, Julie Koziski & her fiancée Timothy Ard of Manassas, VA, Megan Koziski and Leocadya Koziski of Peabody, Eric Koziski of Alexandria, VA, and Steven “Buddy” Koziski of Peabody; a brother-in-law, Robert Quinn of Peabody, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death, besides his parents, by his siblings John Koziski, Stella Delucca, Frances Normand, Betty Casey, and Carol Quinn. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to gather on Wednesday September 5, 2012 at 10:30 AM in the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody. A visitation will be held on Tuesday from 4 – 7 P.M. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem. Memorial donations may be made to the Kaplan Family Hospice House, c/o Hospice of the North Shore & Greater Boston, 75 Sylvan St., Suite B-102, Danvers, MA 01923.
