Obituary of Edwina M. "Chippy" (Lepper) Kavanaugh
Edwina M. “Chippy” Kavanaugh, 72, of Peabody, died early Wednesday morning at the Brightview Assisted Living in Danvers after a long illness. She was the devoted wife of Richard Kavanaugh.
She was born in Everett, MA on August 24, 1940, the daughter of the late Preston and Lois (Stowers) Lepper and was raised and educated there. She had resided in Peabody for the past 51 years. Chippy enjoyed traveling and wintering in Naples,Florida prior to her illness.
She is survived by her husband, Richard, of Peabody, her two sons and daughters-in-law, Thomas and Sheryl Kavanaugh of Haverhill and James and Donna Kavanaugh of North Reading, her six sisters, Elizabeth Marcucella of Malden, Joanne Libby of Naples, Fl, Helena Crilley of Merrimack, NH, Marie Price and Jean O’Brien both of Peabody, her three grandchildren, Jake Kavanaugh of Haverhill and Kasey and Ryan Kavanaugh of No.Readingand many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Lois Casey.
A Visitation will be held on Friday from 4:00 until 8:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 82 Lynn St., Peabody facility. Her funeral will be held on Saturday at 8:00 AM from the Funeral Home followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Adelaide’s Church, Lowell St., Peabody at 9:00 AM. Burial will be in Puritan Lawn memorial Park, Peabody. Expressions of sympathy may be made to Alzheimer’s Association, 480 Pleasant St., Watertown, MA02472 in her memory.
