Obituary of Marie E. (Persson) Stone

Marie E. (Persson) Stone, 83, of Peabody, died unexpectedly on Tuesday afternoon at her home. She was the beloved wife of the late John C. Stone, Sr. Born in Tewksbury, she was the daughter of the late Karl and Anna (Johnson) Persson, of Rockport. She was raised and educated on the North Shore and has lived in Peabody for the past 40 years. Marie worked as an x-ray technician throughout the North Shore, including Salem Hospital,Union Hospital, Miracle Ear at the North Shore Mall, and finally, before retiring, she worked for 10 years for Lynnfield Medical Associated in Peabody. Marie enjoyed following politics and when her son was younger, she volunteered for little league and was a den mother for the boy scouts. She is survived by a son, Joseph K. Stone and her grandson, Jessie A. Stone, both of Peabody. She was the mother of the late Barbara Stone. A Memorial Gathering will be held on Sunday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabodyto which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Burial services will be private.
