Obituary of Virginia "Ginny" Buttafuoco
Virginia C. (Procopio) Buttafuoco, 85, the loving wife of the late John Buttafuoco, passed peacefully on Tuesday, September 18, 2012 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers with her family by her side.
Ginny is survived by her 3 children, Michael Buttafuoco of Peabody, Marie and Bobby Belmonte of Wilmington and Lisa and Hercules Kalogeropoulos of Somerville. She was the loving nana of 6 grandchildren, Brandon and Samantha Belmonte, John, Alex, James and Andrew Kalogeropoulos, her sister, Mary Capra of Everett as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sisters, Frances Callahan and Rose Kiel.
Ginny was born in Everett of April 7, 1927, the daughter of the late Frank and Celia (Fera) Procopio. She was raised and educated in Everett and was a graduate of Everett High School. Upon marrying her husband John, she moved to Winchester and had spent the last 40 years living in Peabody.
Ginny was a loving mother who devoted her life to creating a home for her family, and spending time with her 6 grandchildren and supporting their endeavors.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday, September 21, 2012 from 4:00 until 8:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 82 Lynn St., Peabody facility to which relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Her funeral service will be private as a request of the family. Memorial contributions may be made in Virginia’s memory to the Hospice of North Shore, 75 Sylvan St., Suite 102B, Danvers, MA01923, or the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA01701.
