Obituary of Theresa Alma (Mailly) Collins

Salem, March 11, 2003. Theresa Alma (Mailly) Collins, 75, of Salem, died early Tuesday morning at Salem Hospital following an extended illness. She was the devoted wife of Former City of Salem Firefighter, the late Edward Ben Collins. Born and raised in Salem, she was the daughter of the late Phillippe and Yvonne (Dionne) Mailly. She was a lifelong resident of Salem and had attended Salem Public Schools and was a graduate of Salem High School, class of 1944. She has spent the last 3 years living at the Peabody House in Peabody. Prior to her retirement 10 years ago, she had spent 25 years working as secretary for Banville Optical in Salem. She is survived by three sons and two daughter-in-laws, James and Cheryl Collins of Danvers, Bob and Sharon Collins of Holden, and Rick Collins of Saugus; a daughter, Patricia Collins of Peabody; a sister, Lorraine Tardiff of Winter Garden, Fla., 5 sisters-in-law, Irene Collins of Peabody, Ruth Phelan and Norma Clark, both of Salem, Mary Clark of Fla., and Alyce O’ Neil of Portsmouth, NH; a uncle, Bing Mailly of Los Angeles, Ca; 6 grandchildren, Samantha, Alissa, Jason, Michael, Nicole, and Taylor Collins, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Her funeral service will be held on Friday at 10:00 AM from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 12 Chestnut St. , Peabody Facility, followed by a Funeral Mass in St. John’ s Church at 11:00 AM to which relatives and friends are invited to attend.
