Obituary of Linda Marie Cullen
Linda M. Cullen, 57, passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday September 25, 2012 while in the comforting presence of her family.
Born inSalem, she was the daughter of the late William and Marguerite (Mallia) Cullen. She grew up in Peabody where she lived most of her life, and lived in Salem for the last 10 years. She graduated from Peabody High School, Class of 1973, then attended North Shore Community College before graduating from Lyndon State College inVermont.
Ms. Cullen was a recreational therapist with the YMCA before working with Catholic Charities of Peabody. She later was Activities Director at the Peabody Council on Aging and her last job was Assistant Director of the Council on Aging.
Linda was an outdoors enthusiast who loved camping and kayaking. She especially liked camping trips to Maine. She also was an avid fan of the Red Sox and the Patriots.
She is survived by her fiancée James Christofferson of Salem, with whom she enjoyed eight years together; two brothers, John Cullen of Rochester, NY and Richard & his wife Diane Cullen of Peabody, and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister Mary Cullen.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to gather on Saturday September 29, 2012 at 9 AM from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 20 Church St, Peabody followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 AM in St. Ann’s Church, Peabody. A visitation will be held on Friday from 4 – 8 P.M. in the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem. Expressions of sympathy may be made to either the Peabody Council on Aging, 79 Central St., Peabody, MA 01960 or to Hospice of the North Shore & Greater Boston, 75 Sylvan St. Suite B-102, Danvers, MA 01923.
