Obituary of Robert T. Buckley

Robert T. Beaver Buckley, 59, of Peabody, died Thursday morning at the Lahey Clinic North in Peabody after a year battle with cancer. He was the husband of Susan Lee (Parsons) Buckley with whom he shared 33 years of marriage. He was born in Peabody on March 6, 1946, the son of Stephen T. and Margaret (Hingston) Buckley and later moved to Danvers where he was a graduate of Danvers High School. He then attended Northeast Missouri State College in Missouri where he majored in political science. Upon his return to Danvers, he was first employed at the Larribee and Hingston Inc. of Peabody. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War serving with the US Navy from 1964 until his discharge in 1968. Upon his discharge, he was an operation manager at Kellaway Transportation in Braintree for 15 years. He later served in the same capacity at In Transit Containers of Worcester for 8 years until his illness a year ago. He enjoyed watching sports and being with his family. He is survived by his wife, Susan, and his parents all of Peabody, 2 daughters and a son-in-law, Sarah Elizabeth and Matt Lojko of Merrimac, NH, and Emily Christine Buckley of Peabody; 2 brothers, Stephen and Timothy Buckley both of Peabody, 2 Sisters and a brother-in-law, Marie and John Bishop and Joanne Buckley all of Peabody; 2 grandchildren, Jonathan T. and Lauren E. Lojko of NH, a niece and two nephews. A Family Funeral Service was held on Saturday at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home in Peabody. Burial was in St. Mary’ s Cemetery, Salem. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the North Shore Cancer Center, 17 Centennial Dr., Peabody, Ma 01960 in his memory.
