Obituary of Cynthia Hope (Colella) Cleary
Cynthia Hope (Colella) Cleary, 76, of Lynnfield died unexpectedly early Friday morning at the Union Hospital in Lynn, Ma after taking an ill turn at her home. She was the wife of Robert S. Cleary with whom she shared 52 years of marriage.
She was born in Malden, MA on October 2, 1929, the daughter of the late Joseph and Celia (Dell Isola) Colella and first resided in Everett and later in Malden where she graduated from Malden High School in 1947. She had resided in Lynnfield for the past 52 years.
She was first employed as a file clerk at the Liberty Mutual Life Insurance Company in Boston. Later, she has been a waitress at the former Ship Restaurant in Lynnfield for 10 years.
An avid golfer, she was a member and women’ s champion for three years at the Thomson Country Club in No Reading and also belonged to the traveling team and the Woman’ s Golf Association of Massachusetts.
She enjoyed cooking and baking for her family.
Surviving her besides her husband are a son and daughter-in-law, Robert S. and Robin Cleary of Stoneham, Ma., 3 daughters and a son - in-law , Kim M. Cleary of Malden, Karen Ann Cleary of Revere and Lisa A. and Robert Perrino of Sandwich, MA, a brother and sister-in-law, Gerald and Maria Colella of Malden; 3 grandchildren, Kelly Bolan of Sandwich, Erin and Megan Cleary of Stoneham and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday at 11:30 AM at the Family lot in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, West Peabody.
A Visitation will be held on Sunday from 4:00 until 7:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 12 Chestnut St., Peabody Facility.Relatives and friends are kindly invited.
