Obituary of Robert V. Woodworth

Robert V. Bob Woodworth, 73 years, husband of Roseann E. (Calogero) Woodworth of Peabody died unexpectdely Wednesday at the Lahey Clinic Northshore after being stricken at home. Mr. Woodworth was born June 11, 1929 in Lynn son of the late David O. and Ethel (Forsberg) Woodworth. He was raised in Lynn and graduated from Lynn Classical High School class of 1947. After graduation he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served as an Electrician’ s Mate Fireman aboard the USS Mindoro and the USS Philippine Sea. Mr. Woodworth began his working career as a former co-owner of the Swampscott Refrigeration of Lynn. He then went on to establish and co-own the former Woodworth and Snook Refrigeration in Swamoscott. Presently he was the owner and operator of R & R Woodworth Antiques. During his leisure time he enjoyed manufacturing and restoring furniture and was an avid golfer. He was a 33rd Degree Mason of the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite of Freemansonry. In addition to his wife of 46 years he is survived by 4 daughters and 3 sons-in-law, Wanda and Edward Ciman of Middleton, Paula and Michael Piantedosi of Peabody, Heather and Michael Walsh of Salem and Bobbie Melanson of Danvers; 14 grandchildren, Daniel, Christopher and Oliver Ciman, Michael, Roseann, Robert, Vincenza, Antionette, Ethel and Gabriella Piantedosi, Samantha, David and William Walsh and Robert Melanson; his mother-in-law, Antoinette Calogero of Medford; a brother-in-law and 2 sisters-in-law, Andrew and Carol Calogero of Medford and Betsey Woodworth of Hampton, NH and several nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late George Woodworth and Marion Snook. His funeral service will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. in the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 20 Church St., Peabody location 978-531-0472 to which relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Visiting hours Friday 5 to 8 p.m. Burial in Puritan Lawn Memorial Parl, Peabody. Memorial contribution may be made to the Arthritis Foundation, 29 Crafts St., Newton, MA 02158.
