Obituary of Ann P. (Heffernan) Cain

Ann P. (Heffernan) Cain, 79, beloved wife of the late Charles M. Cain, died Friday morning at her home following a long illness. Born in Barnstable, she was the daughter of the late John and Mary (Donovan) Heffernan. She lived in Barnstable in her youth, graduated high school and studied Business, graduating from Mount St. Mary’ s College in New Hampshire. She enjoyed volunteering at the George Peabody Library in Danvers for many years. She was an avid reader, solving crossword puzzles, knitting, baking and family gatherings. She had a fond love of the ocean, sailing off the coast near Rockport. She will be dearly missed by her family, including: her daughters, Charlene Morin of Salisbury, Patty Ann Thompson of Danvers, Wendy Howells-Long of Pueblo, CO, Cheryl Cain-Patterson of Trinity, AL, and Lynanne Severino of Danville, NH; 13 grandchildren, one great-grandchild, her sister Marie Berktold of Dorchester, and several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to a visitation on Wednesday from 9:30 to 10:40 AM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 12 Chestnut ST. location, Peabody, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11 AM in St. John’ s Church, Peabody. Cremation will follow the Mass. The Cain family deeply appreciates all those who helped in care-giving for Ann, especially Partners Healthcare, Martin Senior Homecare, and Hospice of the North Shore. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of the North Shore, 10 Elm St., Danvers, MA 01923.
