Obituary of Linda Maude (Whitcomb) Luz

Linda Maude (Whitcomb) Luz, 69, of Peabody, died Wednesday morning at the Baker Katz Nursing Home in Haverhill following a brief illness. She was the devoted wife of the late Robert Luz. Born in Lynn, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Maude (Lamb) Whitcomb. She was a lifelong resident of Peabody and a graduate of Peabody High School. Linda was a stay at home mom who enjoyed raising her two daughters, and later when her children were grown, she worked many temps jobs and finally before she retired, she worked for Daka International in Danvers as an accounting clerk for three years. Linda was an avid antique collector and Red Sox Fan who dedicated a room in her house to Red Sox Nation. Linda loved the outdoors and her animals, especially her dogs and her horse Tweety Skip-a-star. She enjoyed countless hours taking long walks with her dogs in woods behind her house and enjoyed countless hours riding her horse. She is survived by her two daughters, Chrystal Bowley of Haverhill and Robin Gerniglia of Arundel, Maine, her siblings, Dorothy and her husband Richard Thurlow of West Newbury, Sandra MacDonald of Peabody, and Arlene and her husband Richard Luz of Bricktownship, NJ, her five grandchildren, Sarah Mallett of Haverhill, Heather Bowley of Henderson, NC, David Gerniglia, Jr. of Goffstown, NH, Lauren Gerniglia of Nashua, NH, and Briana Gerniglia of Arundel, ME and is also survived by three great grandchildren and by several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late William Whitcomb, Sr., Frank Whitcomb, Jr., Carol Pasocco and Marcia Splaine. Her Funeral Service will be held on Saturday at 12:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held prior to the service from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM. Burial services will be private.
