Obituary of Alan "Al" J Ducey

Alan “Al” J. Ducey, 55, of Peabody died peacefully on November 12, 2012 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers after battling cancer over the past year. Al was born on December 6, 1956 in Winchester and has lived inPeabody for the past forty years. He made lifelong friends wherever he went, loved to have a good time and enjoy every day to the fullest. His smile was contagious. Al was talented in so many ways, some of his favorite hobbies included racing stock cars, golfing, playing hockey and softball. His true passion was music. He sang from the heart and everyone around could feel his energy. Al was also an avid fan and spectator of NASCAR, and all of New England Professional Sports teams. He is survived by his mother Eleanor Salisbury of York, Maine, two daughters, Leah and Deanna Ducey, a brother, Paul Ducey of Greenville, ME, sister, Lynne Doyle of Canterbury, NH, two grandsons, Shane and Keenan, his fiancé Debbie Rice of Peabody and is also survived by two generations of nieces and nephews and an abundance of dear friends. He was predeceased by a his brother, Rick Ducey, his father, William Ducey, his step father, George Salisbury and his step mother, Lillian “Sug” Ducey. Friends and family are cordially invited to celebrate the life of Al Ducey on Friday November 16, 2012 from 4:00 until 8:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody to which family and friends join together for stories and laughter. “ No crying and no black.” In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his memory to either, MGH/North Shore Cancer Center, 102 Endicott St., Danvers, MA01923or the Kaplan Family Hospice House, 78 Liberty St., Danvers, MA01923. “Always look on the bright side of life.”
