Obituary of B. Joyce (Thomas) Charlton
PEABODY Joyce (Thomas) Charlton, 75, of Stockton Road, beloved wife of Thomas F. Charlton of Peabody, died at her home with her family by her side on Monday.
Born in Buffalo, NY, she was the daughter of the late Jennings Bryant & Ossie (White) Thomas. She lived there in her youth, and graduated from Kensington High School. She worked as a Secretary for Buffalo Crushed Stone before becoming a dedicated Homemaker, mother and grandmother. She lived in Massachusetts since 1958 and in Peabody for over 40 years.
She was a most supportive and devoted fan of her grandchildren and was with them through all their activities, she was a volunteer with the Ward 6 Polling Booth for elections in Peabody, and avid reader and enjoyed travel.
She is survived by: her husband, Thomas F. Charlton, of Peabody, with whom she shared 62 years of friendship and 52 years of marriage; one son and daughter-in-law, Tom & Marsha Charlton of Beverly; one daughter and son-in-law, Deborah & Kevin McCarthy of Amesbury; five grandchildren, Catie and Brian McCarthy both of Amesbury, Ryan, Ashley, and Patrick Charlton, all three of Beverly; one brother, Ronald Thomas of Buffalo, and four nieces.
Her funeral will be held on Saturday at 11 AM at the Messiah Lutheran Church, Lowell St., Lynnfield to which relatives and friends are kindly invited. A visitation will be held on Friday from 4 to 8 P.M. in the Conway facility at 12 Chestnut St. of the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home in Peabody (Please see www.ccbfuneral .com for info or directions). Burial will be in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of the North Shore, 10 Elm ST., Danvers, MA 01923.
