Obituary of Gene F Campbell

Gene F. Campbell, 81, of Peabody, died Wednesday evening at the Union Hospital in Lynn following a brief illness. He was the devoted husband of the Doris (Huntsman) Campbell with whom he shared over 44 years of marriage. Born in Akron,Ohio, he was the son of the late Colin and Jennie (Craig) Campbell. He has lived in Peabody for the past 75 years. Gene was a veteran of the Korean War and was honorably discharged in 1953. After the war, Gene worked as a foreman and truck driver for the H. Paulino trash company for many years. He then drove a cab for the city of Peabody and finally, before retiring, he ran his own clean-out business with his little red pick-up truck. Besides his loving wife, he is survived by two sons, Jimmy Adams and Junior and his wife Arlene Adams, his daughter, Kathy Cook, his brother, Glenn Campbell and is also survived by 8 grandchildren, Richard Thorne, Angel MacDonlad, Amy Taylor, Emily Adams, Katie Adams, Jimmy Adams, Jr., Derek Adams, and Adam Cook, and a great grandson, James Taylor, Jr. He was the father of the late Richard "Richie" Campbell and brother of the late George, Colin Joe, Eunice and Dorothy Campbell. Visiting hours will be held on Sunday from 2:00 – 5:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. His Funeral Service will be held on Monday at 11:00 AM at the funeral home and burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody.
