Obituary of Helen E. (Gill) Sullivan

Helen E. (Gill) Sullivan, 80, beloved wife of the late William A. Sullivan, died Saturday evening at the Blueberry Hill Healthcare Facility in Beverly following a long illness. Born in Peabody, she was a lifelong resident of the city. She was the daughter of the late Bernard and Rena (Larrabee) Gill. She graduated from Peabody High School, Class of 1940. Mrs. Sullivan first was employed with General Electric in Lynn as a Comptroller during World War II, then worked as a Bookkeeper and Secretary for the City of Peabody Public School System. She retired from working at Peabody High School in 1986. She was a communicant at St. John’ s Church in Peabody, and was active in Sodality there, and she liked bowling, travel, and being with family at home. She is survived by: one son and daughter-in-law, William J. & Stacey Sullivan of Bear, DE; one daughter and son-in-law, Anne E.& John Kako of Salem; three step-children, Richard & Carol Sullivan of Derby, CT, John & Mary Ann Sullivan of Danvers, and Mary Ellen & John Mighil of Rowley; 12 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; one sisters, Florence Reid of Beverly, several nieces and nephews, and a very close friend, Dorothy Vorel of Peabody. She was preceded in death by her husband, William A. Sullivan, and a brother, George Gill who died a month ago. Her funeral will be held on Wednesday at 8 AM from the Conway facility at 12 Chestnut St. of the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, Peabody, followed by a Funeral Mass at 9 AM in St. John’ s Church, Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited. A visitation will be held on Tuesday from 5 to 8 PM. Burial in St. Mary’ s Cemetery, Salem.
