Obituary of Elizabeth "Beth" (Hart) Rigney
Elizabeth “Beth” (Hart) Rigney, 59, of Peabody, died Thursday evening at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers surrounded by her loving family following a courageous battle against cancer.
Born in Peabody, she was the daughter of the late John Hart Jr. and Alice A. (Zalewski) Hart. She was a lifelong resident of Peabody and a graduate of PeabodyHigh School, class of 1971.
Beth was first employed with Marshalls as a computer data entry clerk and finally before retiring due to her illness, she was employed at Salem Hospital as a computer technician.
Beth enjoyed reading, cooking and taking care of all of her family and friends and her cat Cali O’Malley and sharing in all of their endeavors.
Beth is survived by her daughter, Bethany Rigney of Florida, her grandson, Caden, her brothers and sisters, John and his wife Sharon Hart of Abington, Tim and his wife Adele Hart of Marshfield, and Cindy Herlihy, Judy Freehan, and Kathy Conway, all of Peabody, and is also survived many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was the mother of the late Shane Rigney.
A private family service will be held this week and expressions of sympathy can be made in her name to either Strays in Need, P.O. Box 223, Danvers, MA 01923 or the Kaplan Family Hospice House, 78 Liberty Street, Danvers, MA01923.
