Obituary of Albert Wilke

Albert Wilke, 85, of Hampstead,NH and formerly of Peabody,MA died Saturday at the Elliot Hospital Hospice Care Unit in Manchester,NH with his family at his side after a long illness. He was the devoted husband of the late Constance“Connie” (Leonard) Wilke. Al was born in Lynn, MA on July 9,1927, the son of the late Joseph and Sophie Wilczewski and was educated and raised there before moving to South Peabody. He had lived in New Hampshire for the past 7 years. He was a Welder at the General Electric Company for over 35 years working in Everett and in Lynn prior to her retirement. He was a veteran of WW 11 serving overseas in Germany with the US Army and was a member of the VFW Post 1011 of Peabody. Al enjoyed going fishing both in deep sea and in the lakes and loved to tinker around his home. He was a caregiver to his wife during her illness and also to his family helping them anyway he could. He love to garden and keep his lawn always neat and loved going dancing with his wife when she was well. He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law Kathleen Merson- Morrison and her husband Joseph Morrison of Hampstead, NH, a step-daughter, Karen Lawless of Lynn, his six cherished grandchildren, Rachael Merson of Boston and Danielle Merson of Virginia, Matthew, Michael and Christine Lawless all of Lynn and Sarah Lawless of Haverhill and many nieces and nephews. A Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 3, 2013 from 10:00 until 11:30 AM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 82 Lynn St.,Peabody facility followed by a Service there at 11:30 AM.
