Obituary of Theodore Koulas

Theodore Ted Koulas, 83, husband of the late Isabelle (Spiliotis) died early Tuesday afternoon at Salem Hospital Hospice Unit. Born in Chelmsford, he was the son of the late Gregory and Constance (Haitsis) Koulas. He was a resident of Peabody for the past 75 years Mr. Koulas worked for the McKesson Liquors Co., local 25, the Borden Chemical Co., and was owner of the Squire Road Package Store in Revere. He was a member of the St. Vasilios Greek Orthodox Church, the Mason Jordan Lodge and the Veterans of Foreign Wars, post 00240. He served in the Battle of the Bulge with the 137th Signal Radio Intelligence Co 12 group in World War II Surviving him are two sons and a daughter-in-law, Gregory and Marie Koulas of Peabody and William Koulas of Salem; two daughters and sons-in-law, Connie and George Lowell, and Cynthia and Frank Peters, all of Peabody; His grandchildren are Christopher Peters, Stephanie Dowling, Nicholas and Matthew Koulas; great grandchildren, Steven and Alexis Dowling, all of Peabody. He leaves two sisters, Martha Partaledis and Stella Boyson; sister-in-law, Jean Koulas, Mary Espinola, Jennie Retos, Elsie Spiliotis, Helen McDonald, Eleanor Spiliotis, Connie Perakis, Virginia Dutille and brother-in-law, Edwin Dutille as well as many niece and nephews. He was the brother of the late Ernest, Betty, Dorothy, and Peter Koulas. His funeral will be held on Friday at 9:00 AM from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 12 Chestnut St., Peabody, followed by a Funeral Service at 10 AM in St. Vasilios Church, Peabody to which relatives and friends kindly invited. A visitation will be held on Thursday from 4 to 8 PM. Burial in Greenlawn Cemetery, Salem.
