Obituary of Edmund "Rabit" Rabitski

Edmund Rabit Rabitski 81 years, husband of Natalie (Glowacki) Rabitski of Peabody died Monday morning at the Pilgrim Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Peabody. Mr. Rabitski was born March 17, 1924 in Peabody son of the late Adolf and Anna (Filipowicz) Rybicki. He was raised in Peabody and graduated from Peabody High School and was a lifelong resident of Peabody. During WWII he served in the United States Navy as a Machinist’ s Mate, First Class aboard the USS Barr and USS ATR-58 in the Asiatic Pacific Area. Mr. Rabitski was employed for many years as a crane operator at A.C. Lawrence Leather Co. in Peabody. He was a member of the Peabody Lodge of Elks #1409, P.L.A.V. Post 56 and St. Michaels Society Lodge 630 both in Lynn. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a sister, Stella Koza of Lawrence and several nieces and nephews. He was pre deceased by his siblings, Sophie Mello and Ben Rybicki. His funeral will be held on Thursday at 8 a.m. from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 20 Church St. location, Peabody followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 a.m. in St. John the Baptist Church, Peabody. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Visiting hours Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. Burial in St. Mary’ s cemetery, Salem.
