Obituary of Clara G Intonti

Clara Intonti, 90, of Peabody, died Wednesday evening at the Rosewood Nursing Home in Peabody following a lengthy illness. Born in Peabody she was the daughter of the late John and Giovanna (Verza) Sironi. She was a lifelong resident of Peabody and a communicant of St. John the Baptist Church in Peabody. She graduated from Peabody High School, class of 1939, and following her graduation, she attended Remington Rand Bookkeeping Machines Schooland graduated in 1941. She later continued her education and attended Burdett College and received her certificate in Stenographic Secretarial Dept in the evening division in 1956. Clara completed the prescribed course for “Nurses’ Aide” conducted by the Peabody Chapter of the American Red Cross in June of 1945. Starting during World War II and continuing afterwards, she volunteered as a Nurse’s Aide at local hospitals and once a month at Veteran’s Hospitals. She was fist employed as a office manager, bookkeeper and executive secretary for Standard Duplicator Sales in Wakefield and finally before retiring in 1984, she was and office manager and bookkeeper for the North Shore United Way in Beverly for fifteen years. She very much enjoyed her grandchildren, attending Operas, musicals, movies, listening to light classical music and was an avid reader. She is survived by a son, Dr. Albert J. Intonti and his wife Mary, and her three grandchildren, Dean, Callie and Maura, all of Peabody, and is also by several niece, nephews, and cousins. She was the sister of the late Joseph Sironi. A private family service was held on Monday with burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem.
