Obituary of Nancy R (Elwood) Chambers

Nancy R. Chambers, 74, of Peabody, died Thursday evening at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers following a brief illness. She was the devoted of Frank Chambers with whom she shared over 53 years of marriage. Born in Manchester, NH, she was the daughter of the late Forest and Kathleen (Billings) Elwood. She has lived inPeabodyfor the past 50 years. Nancy was devoted to her family, friends and had a strong love of animals and the environment. She was actively involved with the humane society and was always with animals in need of care and shelter. Besides her loving husband, she is survived by three sons, Jan Cory Chamber of Ohio, Scott Chambers of NH, and Brian Chambers of Peabody, her daughter, Kathleen McLaughlin of Peabody and by her seven loving grandchildren, Bryan Chambers, Sarah Cantara, Scott and Michael Chambers, Kayla and Andrew McLaughlin and Denaje Chambers, and by a great granddaughter, Daphne Cantara and several nieces and nephews. A private family graveside service will be held at a later date at Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to the Northeast Animal Shelter, 347 Highland Ave, Salem, MA01970.
