Obituary of June E. (Witham) Travers

June E. (Witham) Travers PEABODY—June E. (Witham) Travers, 80, beloved wife of James S. Travers, died peacefully at her home in Dunstable on Wednesday January 16, 2013. Born in Peabody, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Geraldine (McNeill) Witham. She lived in Peabody for many years. In recent years she resided in Dunstable, MA. She had worked many years as a Banquet Waitress, and at several North Shore restaurants. June was happiest when surrounded by the many friends and family members who would often gather at the family home in West Peabody. She will be dearly missed. June is survived by her husband James Travers of Dunstable, with whom she shared 54 years of marriage; a son James Travers, Jr.; two daughters, Patricia Travers and Maryann Walsh and her husband Jack. She was preceded in death by her brother Kenneth Witham. The family would like to acknowledge the compassionate care and respect provided to June by the staff of All Care Adult Day Program and Personal Touch Home Health Care, especially her much loved Charles Quarm and his extraordinary kindness. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to her Funeral Service on Tuesday January 22, 2013 at 11 AM in the West Congregational Church, Johnson St., Peabody. A visitation will be held on Monday from 4 – 8 P.M. in the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funearl Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody. Burial will be in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody. In lieu of flowers, kindly consider a donation in June’s memory to Elder Services of the Merrimack Valley, 360 Merrimack St., Building # 5, Lawrence, MA 01843.
