Obituary of Delminda (Lima) Nunes

Delminda (Lima) Nunes, 85, beloved wife of the late Roque C. Nunes, died Wednesday evening January 23, 2013 at the Peabody Glen Nursing Center in Peabody following a long illness. Born in Graciosa, Azores, Portugal, she was the daughter of the late Joao C. and Laurentina (Lima) Lima. She came to the United States, settling in Peabody where she lived for many years. Mrs. Nunes worked as an assembler with Duchess Shoes of Salem for several years before retiring. Delminda was a longtime member of Our Lady of Fatima Church in Peabody, and was a member of the Holy Ghost Society of Peabody. She is survived by a son, Manuel R. Nunes and his wife Maria (Elpidia) Nunes of Peabody; a brother Arnaldo Lima of Peabody, and many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to gather on Saturday January 26, 2013 at 8 AM from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody, followed by a Funeral Mass of Christian Burial at 9 AM in Our Lady of Fatima Church, Peabody. A visitation will be held today…Friday from 5 – 8 P.M. in the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem.
