Obituary of Phyllis Alberta (Spencer) Dionne

Phyllis Alberta (Spencer) Dionne, 74, of Randolph and formerly of Peabody, died Saturday afternoon at her home surrounded by her family following a brief illness. She was the devoted wife of the late Norman Dionne. Born in Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada, she was the daughter of the late Emery and Daisy (Estey) Spencer. She was raised and educated in New Brunswick, Canada and in 1970 moved to the North Shore where she lived for 36 years before going to Randolph in 2006. Phyllis was a nurse’s aid for many years in Salem. She enjoyed playing bingo throughout various places on the North Shore, and she also enjoyed doing jigsaw puzzles and word games. Her greatest joy came when she spent her time with her grandchildren and shared in all of their endeavors. She is survived by four sons, Paul and his wife Lisa Dionne of Randolph, Larry Dionne of Peabody, and Doug and David Wilkins, both of Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada, two daughters, Laurie Dionne and her companion Gerry Tellier of Peabody and Twila and her husband Steven Kontis of Gloucester, two sisters, Barbara Gee of Woodstock, NB Canada and Geneva and her husband Willis Arbeau of Fredericton, New Brunswick, NB, Canada, her brother Richard Spencer of Perth Andover, NB, Canada, and is also survived by several brothers and sisters-in-law in Presque Isle, ME, Derry, NH, Vancouver British Columbia and New Brunswick, Canada, Ernest TX, and Afghanistan, and is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and twelve grandchildren. She was the sister of the late Shirley Johnson, Mae Johnson, Floyd Spencer and Ken Estey. Her Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 AM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabodyt o which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday from 4:00 until 8:00 PM. Following cremation, burial will be on Thursday at 11:00 AM at Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to Seasons Hospice & Palliative Care, 275 Grove St., Suite 3-102, Newton, MA02466.
