Obituary of Syvilla A. (Smith) Manning

Syvilla A. (Smith) Manning PEABODY—Syvilla A. (Smith) Manning, 93, beloved wife of the late Howard Manning, died unexpectedly at her home on Sunday evening January 27, 2013. Born in Peabody, she was the daughter of the late Phillips N. and Syvilla J. (Perkins) Smith. She was a lifelong Peabody resident and attended Peabody High School. Mrs. Manning enjoyed nurturing her family at home, and cherished time spent with her grandchildren. She worked at the former Kresgies at the North Shore Shopping Center. She is survived by two sons, Bruce Manning and Warren Manning both of Peabody, and a daughter Jane Woodman of Marlborough; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death, besides her husband and parents, by sisters Phyllis Stevens, Irene Smith, and Mary Hyde. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to gather for her Funeral Service on Thursday January 31, 2013 at 11:30 AM in the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody. A visitation will be held on Wednesday from 4 – 6 P.M. in the funeral home. Burial will be in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.
