Obituary of Franklin Donald Horrigan

Franklin Donald Horrigan, 73, of Groveland, formerly of Wakefield, died unexpectedly at his residence on Sunday, January 27, 2013. Franklin was born in Wakefield, on February 28, 1939, son of the late Frank and Doris (Snowdon) Horrigan. He was raised in Wakefield and graduated from Wakefield Memorial High School in 1956. In 1958, he enlisted into the United States Air Force and served as an Airman 1st Class. Prior to receiving his Honorable discharge in 1964 he was assigned to the 325 AEM, SQ, ADC. After completing 8 years of honorable service in U.S. Air Force, Franklin was employed as a computer analyst for many years at Honeywell, and later at Chase Manhattan Bank until his retirement. Franklin was a lifetime member of the Wakefield Lodge of Elks # 1276, the American Legion Post 0063 in Wakefield, and also served on the Board of Trustees at the Whitestone Village Condominium where he resided in Groveland. His most precious hobby was his model train sets. Franklin is survived by his children and their spouses, Kevin F. and Sharon Horrigan of Wakefield, Melissa A. and Keith Croteau of No. Kingstown, RI, Melanie L. and Michael Montembeau of Kennebunk, ME, Darren P. and Clydene Horrigan of Westford, Beth A. and Steven Watson of Barrington, NH, and Derek M. and Jennifer Horrigan of Hampton, VA; 15 grandchildren, Colin, Megan, Sammantha, Sabreena, Jennifer, Timothy, Abigail, Callister, Sawyer, Patrick, Cassandra, Steven Jr., Cameron, Benjamin and Maison; a sister, Joan Buckler; a niece and nephew, Susan and David Buckler; and his companion Sonja Enstead. His family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday, February 2, 2013 from 10:30 to 12 noon at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody.
