Obituary of Angelina M. (D'Ambrosio) Romano
Angelina M. Angie (D’ Ambrosio) Romano, 79, of Peabody and formally of Everett, died early Thursday morning at Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston, following a brief illness. She was the devoted wife of George L. Romano with whom she shared over 56 years of marriage.
Born in Everett, she was the daughter of the late John and Mary (Mastrangelo) D’ Ambrosio. She was raised and educated in Everett and graduated from Everett High School, class of 1941. She has lived in Peabody for the past 37 years.
She had worked for over 16 years as a bank teller for Warren Five Cents Savings Bank in Peabody, first at the Main Branch on Main Street and later as head teller of the West Peabody Branch on Russell Street, before retiring in 1987.
Besides her husband of 56 years, she is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, George and Linda Romano of Peabody; a daughter, Maryann Nickerson of Clackamas, OR; a brother and sister-in-law, John and Elie D’ Ambrosio of Ocala, Fla., 5 grandchildren, Thomas and his wife Sandra Nickerson of Camas, WA, Richard and his wife Karissa Nickerson of Portland, OR, Kelly Nickerson of Portland OR, Joseph Romano of Peabody and Michael and his wife Inga Romano of Peabody; 3 great grandchildren, Connor, Sloan, and Jacob Nickerson, all of Portland, OR.
Her funeral service will be held on Monday at 10:00 AM from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 20 Church St., Peabody Facility, followed by a Funeral Mass in St. John’ s Church at 11:00 AM to which relatives and friends are invited to attend. Burial in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody. Visitation on Sunday from 4-8 PM. Expressions of Sympathy can be sent to Salem Hospital, C/O Cardiac Unit, 81 Highland Ave., Salem Ma 01970.
