Obituary of Diane M. "Dee Dee" Sperry
Diane M. “Dee Dee” Sperry, 62, of Hamilton and formerly of Peabody, died on Monday, February 4, 2013 at the Essex Park Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Beverly.
Diane was born in Norwalk, CT, on February 13, 1950, the daughter of the late Kenneth and Mary (Sheridan) Sperry. She was raised in Norwalk and graduated from Brian McMahon High School, Class of 1970.
After graduating from High School, Diane worked at various jobs through the Easter Seal rehabilitation program. Following her parents death in 1989, she moved to Massachusetts and resided in Peabody and Hamilton. In 2012 due to her ill health she became a resident at Essex Park in Beverly.
Diane was a devoted daughter who enjoyed traveling and camping with her parents and their dog Gretchen. As hobbies she enjoyed needlepoint, crewel work, and watching cooking shows.
Diane is survived by her sister, Gail P. Alexander and her husband Reynold of No. Reading, a brother, Robert K. Sperry of New Fairfield, CT; 4 nieces, 4 nephews, 1 grand niece and 7 grand nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, February 8, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody. The family will then receive relatives and friends at the funeral home on Friday following the service until 11:30 a.m. Memorial contributions may be made in Diane’s memory to the American Heart Association, 20 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701.
