Obituary of Joseph N Bou Harb

Joseph N. Bou Harb, 82, of Peabody, died Monday afternoon surrounded by his family at his home following a brief illness. He was the devoted husband of Samira (Bou Samra) Bou Harb with whom he shared over 54 years of marriage. Born in Lebanon, he was the son of the late Najib and Linda (Bou Harb) Bou Harb. He was raised and educated in Lebanon and has lived in Peabody for the past 20 years. Joseph was a business man in Lebanon who owned and operated his family’s furniture and appliance stores, and also sold oriental rugs. Joseph was very active and enjoyed the outdoors. He liked hunting, horse racing, playing cards. He was a true Patriarch of the family and enjoyed sharing with his children and grandchildren in all of their endeavors. Besides his loving wife, he is survived by two sons, Walid and his wife Kim Bou Harb of Powell, OH and Talal and his wife Mirvat Bou Harb of Holden, a daughter, Norma and her husband Adel Haddad of Peabody, his brother Marcel Bou Harb of Lebanon and by his loving nine grandchildren. He was predeceased by his daughter Lena Malkoun and by a brother and six sisters. His funeral service will be held on Friday at 10:00 AM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM at St. Mary Annunciation Church, Conant St., Danvers to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday from 4:00 until 7:00 PM. Burial will be in Annunciation Cemetery, Hobart St., Danvers.
