Obituary of Richard E. "Ricky" York, Jr.

Richard E. York, Jr., 42, of Peabody died on Tuesday, February 12, 2013, at the North Shore Medical Center at Salem Hospital after a life long struggle with epilepsy. Ricky was born in Salem, on September 15, 1970, the son of Irene (Cotoni) York and the late Richard E. York, Sr. He was raised in Peabody and graduated from Peabody Veterans Memorial High School Class of 1988. Following his graduation Ricky was employed as a patient facilitator at J.B. Thomas Hospital. He was later employed for a few years at E.G. Washburn in Peabody. Ricky enjoyed crocheting blankets for his niece and nephew and loved ones. He enjoyed playing darts with his friends and was on several dart teams. He loved fishing and doing crossword puzzles. But most of all he loved walking his beloved companion, Precious. In addition to his mother Irene of Peabody, Ricky is survived by his sister, Valerie A. York, and his brother, Christopher M. York and Christopher's wife, Jeanine, all of Peabody. Ricky is also survived by his niece, Brittany A. York and nephew, Christopher Michael York Jr., both of whom he adored, in addition to several aunts, uncles, cousins and his many friends. Ricky is joining his beloved Father, Grammy Ida, Grampy John, and many aunts & uncles in Heaven. His family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday, February 16, 2013, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody.
