Obituary of Marie J. (Caruso) Modini

Marie J. (Caruso) Modini PEABODY—Marie J. (Caruso) Modini, 71, beloved wife of John Modini of Peabody, died unexpectedly on Thursday February 14, 2013 at the Beverly Hospital following a long illness. Born in Swampscott, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Jennie (Molligi) Caruso. She grew up in Lynn, and graduated from Lynn Classical High School, Class of 1959, where she met her husband and married her high school sweetheart. She lived in Peabody for the last 47 years. Marie enjoyed being at home and nurturing her family with a great home environment. She also helped her husband with his business, “Jack’s Canteen Truck”, by preparing meals. She was very involved with St. Ann’s Parish in Peabody, where she was the Chair for the Activities Committee for a number of years. She also was talented in acting and had the lead role in her high school play. She enjoyed being outside, tending to her flowers, cooking, and was most happy when her children, grandchildren and family were gathered together. She is survived by her husband John “Jack” Modini of Peabody, with whom she shared 52 years of marriage; a son Thomas Modini of Manchester, NH; a daughter Deborah & her husband Steven Rizzo of Peabody; four grandchildren, Andrew Modini, Amy Modini, Sabrina Rizzo and Joshua Rizzo; a sister Dorothy & her husband John Corrado of Portsmouth, NH, and several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to gather on Tuesday February 19, 2013 at 11 AM in the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home for her Funeral Service. A visitation will be held on Monday 4 – 8 P.M. in the funeral home. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody.
