Obituary of Robin M. (Millard) Hincman
Robin M. (Millard) Hincman, 58, of Peabody, cherished wife of Paul Hincman, died on Saturday, February 23, 2013 at her home with her family by her side.
Robin was born in Salem, on August 6, 1954, the daughter of Nancy “Mimi” (Scialdone) Millard and Robert “Bampy” Millard who passed in May 2012. She was raised in Salem and graduated from Salem High School Class of 1972. She later pursued her education at North Shore Community College. Following her marriage in 1975, she and Paul made their residence in Peabody.
Robin began her working career in banking which she left to raise her 2 sons David and Jeremy. She later returned to the work force as an Accountant III in the payroll department at Salem State University, a position she held for 15 years leaving 1 year ago due to her ALS disability. She was a loving mother who devoted her life to creating a home for her family, and later was so proud of her 2 grandchildren who perked her life. While raising her sons, she attended and supported them in their sports activities and always attended their football games at UNH telling everyone who would listen how proud she was of their accomplishments. From the time they met, Paul always called her “Puddin’ Head”.
Robin was a choir member at South Congregational Church and served on several church committees, loved the outdoors, designing and making cards, crafts, traveling, and every year spending the 1st week in August at Long Lake in Naples, ME with her family and Maine friends.
In addition to Paul with who she shared 38 years of marriage, her 2 sons of Peabody and her mother of Hampstead, NH, Robin is survived by her 2 daughters-in-law, Jennifer Hincman and Amy Hincman of Peabody; grandson and granddaughter, James Hincman and Ayla Hincman who were her pride and joy; her siblings and their spouses, Renee and Dana Dempsey, Dean and Cathy Millard all of Peabody, Ruthann Curtis and her companion Derek Reed of Georgetown; her mother-in-law, Henrietta “Nana” Hincman of Peabody; 2 brothers-in-law and sister-in-law, Peter Hincman of Peabody, and Philip and Helen Hincman of Wakefield; her devoted canine companion Dakota; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. In addition to her dad she was predeceased by her father-in-law, Peter “Papa” Hincman and a sister-in-law, Maryann Hincman.
Robin’s family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday, February 27, 2013 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody. Her Celebration of Life service will be held on Thursday, February 28, 2013 at 10 a.m. at the South Congregational Church, 60 Prospect St., Peabody. The family requested that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made in Robin’s name to the ALS Angel Fund, www.theangelfund.org , 649 Main St., Wakefield, MA 01880.
