Obituary of Gary D. Clements

Gary D. Clements, 60, of Lynn, died unexpectedly at NSMC Union Hospital after being stricken at his home on Monday, February 25, 2013. Gary was born in Lynn, on February 18, 1953, son of the late Linwood J. and Phyllis M. (Casey) Clements. He was raised in Lynn and graduated from Lynn English High School in 1970. In September, he enlisted into the U.S. Army specializing in Auto Mechanics until receiving his Honorable discharge in 1976. Gary was employed for most of his life as an auto mechanic on the North Shore, and most recently at FasTrack Automotive in Peabody, retiring a year ago due to a heart disability. Gary enjoyed spending time with family and grandchildren. As a hobby, he enjoyed playing cards. Gary is survived by his long time companion, Marie Javery of Lynn, his children and their spouses, Scott W. and Kelly Clements, Dawn Marie (Javery) and Robert “Robb” Desmond, James L. Clements, Amy M. Clements all of Lynn, and Stephen J. and Katie Clements of Somerville; his grandchildren, Riley, William, Makenna, Robert, Jake, Desirae, Stephen Jr., Jacob, Brooke and Adrianna; his siblings and their spouses, James and Claire Clements of AZ, Linda and Raymond Wood of NJ and Donna Dickenson of TX; his former wife, Cheryl (Downing) Finnerty of Lynn and many nieces and nephews. His family will receive relatives and friends on Friday, March 1, 2013 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody, followed by his Celebration of Life Service at 12 p.m. Burial of ashes will be held at Pine Grove Cemetery, Lynn.
