Obituary of Michael Joseph L'Italian

Michael Joseph L'Italian, 58 of Pinehurst, NC, passed away on March 6, 2013 in Marblehead, MA with his loving wife Susan M. (Yelverton) L'Italian by his side. Michael was born in Boston, MA and was the son of the late Raymond L'Italien and Evelyn (Kalil)(L'Italien) Taylor of Peabody. Michael was self employed as a contractor for many years on the North Shore and was currently employed by the State of North Carolina at Fayetteville State University. He enjoyed all sports, especially the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots. He also enjoyed traveling, riding his Harley and was an avid golfer, having fulfilled his life long dream to golf The Old Course at St. Andrews. He loved all animals and will be greatly missed by his 2 cats, Buddy and Lady, who were by his side throughout his lengthy illness. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Michael A. L'Italien and his partner Kim Moon, Derek M. L'Italien and his wife Reyna, three grandsons, Tyler, Trevor and Braxton, seven brothers Paul L'Italien, Albert L'Italien and his wife Maureen, Thomas L'Italien and his wife Lauren, Lawrence L'Italien, John L'Italien and his partner Rhonda Giambusso, Mark L'Italien and his wife Deborah, and Edward L'Italien and his fiancée, Toni Sawyer, a sister-in-law, Janet (Yelverton) McDonald and her partner, William Letourneau and a brother-in-law, Brian Yelverton as well as several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. He will be missed by his numerous friends both in MA and NC. In addition to his parents, Michael was predeceased by an infant daughter, Jacqueline May L'Italien and a nephew Matthew L'Italien. His funeral will be held on Monday, March 11, 2013 at 10 a.m. from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 20 Church St., (next to St. John’s Church) Peabody, followed by a funeral Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Church, 16 Church St., Peabody. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, March 10, 2013 from 4 to 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to St. Jude’s Children Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or Northeast Animal Shelter 347 Highland Avenue, Salem, MA 01970.
