Obituary of Lorraine M. (Richard) Anthony

Lorraine M. (Richard) Anthony, 88, of Peabody, died early Monday morning surrounded by her loving family at the Rosewood Nursing Home in Peabody following a brief illness. She was the devoted wife of the late Edward J. Anthony, Jr. Born in Chelsea, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence and Marguerite (Perry) Richard. She was raised and educated in Chelsea and has lived in Peabody for the past 59 years. Lorraine was employed as a processor and secretary for Travelers Insurance in Danvers for many years before retiring. In her retirement, Lorraine enjoyed lined dancing at the senior center in Peabody and playing dominos with her sisters. She also enjoyed jet skiing and boating at “Camp Eddie.” She is survived by two sons, James and his wife Lori Anthony and Edward J. Anthony III and his fiancé Peggy, all of Peabody, her two daughters, Claire and her husband Clinton Gerrish of Peabody and Maryellen Watson of Rowley, her four sisters, Doris Shea of Reading, Ann Woods of MD, Stella Callahan of FL, and Claire Nawoichyic of Reading, her beloved grandchildren, Jeffrey, Joanne, Jamie, Janelle, Jimmy, and Jordan and her great grandchildren, Jerry, Madison, Matthew, Olivia, Kaylee, Nathan, and Jillian and also survived by several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her granddaughter, Jennifer Gerrish. Her funeral service will be held on Thursday at 8:00 AM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody followed by her Funeral Mass at 9:00 AM at St. John’s Church, Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday from 4:00 until 8:00 PM and Burial will be in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.
