Obituary of Joseph S. Levasseur

Joseph S. Levasseur PEABODY—Joseph S. Levasseur, 83, beloved husband of the late Natalie (Blanchette) Levasseur, died peacefully on Thursday March 21, 2013 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers, while in the comforting presence of his loving family. Born in Peabody, he was the son of the late Leo and Mary (Dzielnik) Levasseur. He attended Peabody schools and was a lifelong resident of the city. Mr. Levasseur worked as a Chemist with Stahl Finishes of Peabody for many years. Joe was a former member of the Peabody Elks Lodge 1409, and a member of the St. Michael’s Society of Peabody. He was often at the Torigian community Life Center in Peabody where he would have a passionate card game of cribbage, poker or rummy. He also enjoyed a game of billiards, traveling to Sarasota, FL in winter, and visiting Salem Willows. He had no children, yet was dedicated to his loving family of his siblings and his many nieces and nephews who were very close to him. He was preceded in death by his close companion Lucie (Morin) Lemelin, his brothers John, Edward, and Leo “Buddy” Levasseur, and sister Maryann “Mickey” Provencal. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to gather on Tuesday March 26, 2013 at 10 AM from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody, followed by a Funeral Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM in St. John the Baptist Church, Peabody. A visitation will be held on Monday from 4 – 8 P.M. in the funeral home. Cremation will follow the Mass. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Torigian Community Life Center, 79 Central St., Peabody, MA 01960
