Obituary of David Powers Roberts

David Powers Roberts, 67 of Beverly and Saugus, passed away on Monday March 25, 2013. Born on July 15, 1945, he was the beloved eldest son of the late Merton and Theresa (Powers) Roberts of Saugus. He leaves his wife Cheryl (Stoddard) Roberts of Saugus, his three children, Bonnie Sue LaRocque, and Jeffrey and Michael Roberts, five grandchildren, Gilly and Jenara LaRocque, Anthony and Jeffrey Roberts, and Renee Marie Roberts, a great granddaughter, Jennalee Elwell, two sisters, Elaine Teal and Carrie Turner, four brothers, Steven, Timothy, Dana and Mark Roberts, and is also survived by sixteen nieces and nephews. After serving four years in the United States Coast Guard aboard the USGC Humboldt, he worked as a mechanic and as a laborer in the Laborers Union. He was known for being able to fix most anything, and loved the outdoors and was an avid reader. His Funeral Service will be held on Saturday at 11:30 AM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 9:30 AM until 11:30 AM. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Winter St., in Saugus.
