Obituary of Grace M. (Pasquale) Boylan

Grace M. (Pasquale) Boylan, 87, of Peabody, wife of the late John R. Boylan, died on Wednesday, April 3, 2013 at Essex Park Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Beverly, with her family at her side. Mrs. Boylan was born in Providence, RI, on May 15, 1925, daughter of Angelo and Victoria (Miranda) Pasquale. She was raised in Providence and graduated from St Pius High School. Grace and her late husband John met at a dance in Providence while he was serving in the Navy and stationed in RI. After their marriage and residing in RI for a year, they returned to Peabody in 1953. Grace was a loving mother who devoted her entire life to creating a home for her family. Later, she enjoyed supporting her 2 grandsons with their school activities and was very proud of their accomplishments. She was an avid walker, loved spending precious time with children, cooking, listening to music, dancing, and had a special place in her heart for animals. Her family wishes to thank the staff on the Cabot Wing at Essex Park in Beverly for the outstanding care their mother received. Grace is survived by her daughters, Diane M. Bernard and her husband Richard Bernard Jr. of Gloucester, and Carol Ann Boylan of Salem; 2 grandsons, Christopher M. Boylan and Joseph A. Sassone; her 11 siblings, Joseph, Tony, Angelo, Jimmy, Tommy, Doris, Lee, Viola, Rosie, Eleanor and Angie; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased on February 2, 2012 by her son John R. “Linky” Boylan, Jr. Her funeral will be held on Monday, April 8, 2013, at 10 a.m. from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 20 Church St., Peabody followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at11 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Church, 16 Church St., Peabody. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Visiting hours are Sunday, April 7, 2013, from 4 to 7 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made in Grace’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Association MA/NH Chapter, www.alz.org/MANH , 480 Pleasant Street, Watertown, MA 02472.
