Obituary of Dorothy C. (La Rochelle) Mahoney

Peabody, March 24, 2003. Dorothy C. (LaRochelle) Mahoney, 73, of Peabody, died early Monday afternoon at the Salem Hospital following a brief illness. She was the devoted wife of James E. Mahoney. Born and raised in Woburn, she was the daughter of the late Eudor and Louise (King) LaRochelle. She had lived in Chelsea for many years and has spent the last 25 years living in Peabody. She had worked as a LPN in geriatrics for over 27 years for the Chelsea Soldiers Home and the Chelsea Jewish Nursing Home, before retiring in 1980. She enjoyed traveling, Bingo and cooking. Besides her loving husband, she is survived by 3 sons and 2 daughters-in-law, James and Deborah Mahoney of Revere, Dennis and Mary Mahoney of Chelsea, and Sean Mahoney of Peabody; a daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Charles Blake of Peabody; a brother Buddy LaRochelle of Everett; 2 sisters, Irene Cawley of Saugus and Sylvia Cronin of Peabody; a half sister, Carol Jacobson and her husband John of Naples, Fla; 6 grandchildren, Charles Blake III, Sean Blake, Jennifer and James Mahoney and Steven and Eric Huntley, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was the sister of the late Richard LaRochelle. Her Funeral Service will he held on Thursday at 8:00 AM from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 12 Chestnut St., Peabody Facility, followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Adelaide’ s Church at 9:00 AM to which relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visitation on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Burial in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.
