Obituary of Arthur F Motter

Arthur F. Motter, 90, of Peabody and formerly of Lynnfield, died Friday, April 5. He was the devoted husband to Elaine H. (Herres) Motter with whom he shared 67 years of marriage. Born and raised in Ohio, he was educated at Ohio and Purdue Universities. Arthur proudly served in the United States Army Air Corps in WWII as a B-17 pilot. He was honored to organize an annual Pearl Harbor breakfast for fellow WWII veterans each December 7. Arthur started his career with John Hancock Insurance Company. He went on to work for Diamond Crystal Salt Company, where he was employed for over 25 years. He then became the owner of Dunhill of Waltham, a personnel consulting firm. Arthur proudly served as Commodore of the Jubilee Yacht Club in Beverly, MA, where he was a member for 43 years. He also held the office of Commodore for Mass Boating and Yacht Club Association and Northeast Power Squadron. He is also survived by a son, Gregory, and his wife, Helen, of Bowling Green, KY, a daughter, Kimberly E. Motter-McCaffrey, and husband, Robert, of Newmarket, NH, four grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. A memorial service will take place in his honor at a future date. Expressions of sympathy can be made in his name to the Community Covenant Church, 33 Lake St., Peabody, MA 01960. Arrangements were made by the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody.
