Obituary of Angela "Nellie M. (Pacewicz) Wanelik

Angela “Nellie” (Pacewicz) Wanelik PEABODY—Angela “Nellie” (Pacewicz) Wanelik, 90, beloved wife of the late William H. Wanelik, Sr., died peacefully Thursday April 11, 2013 at the Life Care of North Shore in Lynn. Born in Lynn, she was the daughter of the late Alexander and Anna (Zapolska) Pacewicz. She grew up in Lynn and graduated from Lynn Classical High School, Class of 1940. Besides nurturing her family, she worked for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Department of Public Welfare in Boston for 12 years. Nellie was an active member of St. Ann’s Church in Peabody. She was a Sacritarian and member of the St. Ann’s Sodality. She also volunteered at St. John’s School and Bishop Fenwick High School in Peabody. She was a member of the Polish National Alliance (PNA). She taught ceramics at Nell’s Ceramic Studio, her in home business. She loved playing her piano and taking day trips to Mohegan Sun in Connecticut. She is survived by by a son William H. Jr. & his wife MaryAnn Wanelik of Hampstead, NH; four grandchildren, Amy Hanssen of NH, Kristin Applegate of FL, Amanda Wanelik, and Michael Wanelik all of NH; a great-grandson, Charles Marshall of NH, and many nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Andrea Applegate and was sister of the late Adela Filipowicz, Alice Jedrey, Anna Kolodziej, Stasia Friedenthal, Stella Kochanski, Jeannette Nadworny and Victor Pacewicz. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to gather on Tuesday April 16, 2013 at 9 AM from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 AM in St. Ann’s Church, Peabody. Visiting hours will be on Monday from 4 – 8 P.M. in the funeral home. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody.
