Obituary of Francisco Pimenta

Francisco Pimenta, 86, of Middleton and formerly of Peabody, died Saturday evening at the Beverly Hospital following a brief illness. He was the devoted husband of Gracinda (Simoes) Pimenta with whom he shared over 48 years of marriage. Born in Lagarinhos, Portugal, he was the son of the late Bernardino and Maria (Ascencao) Pimenta. He was raised and educated in Portugal and had lived in Peabody for over 30 years before moving to Middleton 6 months ago. While living on Portugal, Francisco owned and operated his Flour Mill for over 30 years before he and his family immigrated to the United States. He enjoyed gardening and reading his Portuguese newspaper. His greatest enjoyment was the time he spent with his family and later his grandchildren and sharing in all of their endeavors. Besides his loving wife, he is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Antonio and Ana Pimenta of Middleton, a brother, Bernardino Pimenta of Peabody, a sister and brother-in-law, America and Joaquim Cunha of Peabody and by his three grandchildren, Devin, Aden, and Mary Kate Pimenta. His funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 8:00 AM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St, Peabody, followed by a Funeral Mass at 9:00 AM at Our Lady of Fatima Church, Walsh Ave, Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be on Tuesday from 5:00 until 8:00 PM. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem.
