Obituary of Julia (Alexander) Banos

Julie (Alexander) Banos, of Peabody, died Wednesday evening at the Salem Hospital following a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Theodore Ted Banos. Born and raised in Haverhill, she was the daughter of the late James & Fannie (Koutrou) Alexander. She had attended Haverhill Public Schools and had graduated from Haverhill High School. She also attended and graduated from McIntosh Business College in Haverhill. She was a well-known Realtor on the North Shore for over 32 years. She was Member of the Peabody Chapter of Eastern Star, Greater Salem Board of Realtors, and Mass Board and National Board of Realtors. She was instrumental in forming Peabody Parents of children with Special needs group in 1973. She also was a member of the Board of Directors of Dept. Of Mental Retardation and on the Regional Advisory Board. She was a certified councilor for Senior Health & Informational Needs for the elderly. She is survived by a daughter, Francene Banos of Peabody; a brother, Steve Alexander of Lynnfield; 2 sisters, Esmene Gonios and Alkie Alexander, both of Haverhill, and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Demetra Solomos Bluestein. Her Funeral Service will be held on Monday @ 9:00 AM from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 12 Chestnut St., Peabody Facility, (978) 531-0398, followed by Services in St. George’ s Greek Orthodox Church, Lynn at 10:00 AM to which relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visitation on Sunday from 7-9 PM. Burial in Pine Grove Cemetery, Lynn. In Lieu of Flowers donations can be made to the Bass River Inc., Dept.
