Obituary of John D. Kinville

John D. Kinville, formerly of Mashpee and Danvers, passed away on Tuesday, April 23, 2013 in the Briarwood Health and Rehabilitation Center in Needham after a brief illness. He was 83. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Ann (Reynolds) Kinville. Mr. Kinville was born and raised in Roger City, MI on April 11, 1930 to John P. and Laurence (Gauvreau) Kinville. He graduated from the University of Notre Dame in 1952 and Harvard Business School in 1958. During his career he worked as an Engineer at General Electric, Polaroid, and lastly, EG&G, from which he retired in 1990. Additionally, he served in the Korean War. John enjoyed several hobbies, including woodworking, sailing, and photography. He most especially loved to spend time with his family, and cheering on his favorite alma mater Notre Dame. Besides his wife Ann, John is survived by his son Chuck Kinville of MA, his daughter Elizabeth Waterhouse and her husband Steven of Canton, his brother James Kinville of CA and his sister Jeanne Lavan of Jamaica. He is additionally survived by his grandchildren Sarah and Benjamin Waterhouse, and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Kinville is also brother to the late Mary Ellen Meyer and Robert Kinville. Visiting hours will be from 4 to 7 pm on Thursday, April 24th at the Chapman Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 74 Algonquin Ave, Mashpee, MA. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00am on Saturday April 27, 2013 at St. John the Baptist Church, 16 Church Street, Peabody, MA. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem, MA. Donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
