Obituary of Andrew J. "Andy" D'Eon

Andrew J. “Andy” D’Eon, 66, of Peabody, husband of Elinor I. “Ellie” (Raftery) D’Eon, died on Wednesday, April 24, 2013, at his home with his family at his side following a brief illness. Andy was born in Cambridge, on March 7, 1947, son of the late Nathan and Mary Pauline (Mallett) D’Eon. He was raised in Lynn and graduated in 1964 from Lynn Classical High School. In September 1965, Andy enlisted into the U.S. Air Force and served as a Sergeant with a tour of duty in Vietnam, and was Honorably discharged in 1969 from MacDill AFB, Tampa, FL. Andy was employed for 32 years as an HVAC Tech at Analogic Corporation in Peabody until his retirement in January 2012. He was a loving father who had a passion for his family, supporting them in all their endeavors. For the last 6 1/2 years he was proud of his grandchildren all of whom he adored. He was an avid golfer who played weekly with the Analogic Golf League. He was also an avid sports fan that followed the Red Sox, Bruins and Patriots. In addition to his wife Ellie with whom he shared 44 years of marriage, Andy is survived by his 3 children and their spouses, Brian J. and Kristin D’Eon of Chelmsford, Denise D. and Brian Norman of Peabody, and Cara S. D’Eon of Salem; his cherished grandchildren, James and Michelle Norman of Peabody, and Kaelyn and Andrew D’Eon of Chelmsford; his siblings and their spouses, Mary and Raymond Mackey of Lynn, and Paul and Dorothy D’Eon of Saugus; several cousins, nieces and nephews. His family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday, April 28, 2013 from 3 to 7 p.m. at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody. His Celebration of Life service will be held in the funeral home on Monday, April 29, 2013 at 11 a.m. The family requested that memorial donations be made in Andy’s name to Hospice of the North Shore & Greater Boston, 75 Sylvan St., Suite B-102, Danvers, MA 01923.
